What is counseling?

Psychological counseling

Counseling is a process where clients are supported by a trained counselor in finding ways to understand what’s going on and work through concerns or issues together. You may have constantly worried about specific issues before coming to counseling. You may blame yourself or accuse other people around you while feeling stuck. In such cases, taking a step back and looking objectively at your circumstances may bring you different perspectives. We would like to provide a safe environment for you by supporting you while you try to face your thoughts and feelings.

By talking with a counselor or professional who has undergone specialized training in mental health, you may begin to see your situation from a new perspective. You may find that your painful feelings begin to dissipate. Or maybe you will be able to look at yourself in a warmer light by working together with your counselor. We believe that the sun, instead of the cold breeze, allows people to move forward. As you build a safe and secure relationship with your counselor and confront your pain, your strengths will be empowered and your path of growth will be cultivated. The key individual in counseling is you. The counselor is not there to provide the answers to your worries. We believe that counseling is a collaborative process. Walking this path together, finding the strength to live your life true to yourself and grow – making your own choices that honor

the authentic you – is the heart of counseling.
